Active Parenting: The First Five Years

Get evidence-based parenting methods for parent and caregivers of children ages birth to five years in age. Learn techniques that enhance nurturing a child with the just right combination of freedom and nonviolent discipline. Using work books and homework tasks, gain understanding of the ages and stages of child development, how mindfulness can keep you cool, and effective discipline that young children can understand, choices and consequences, and preparing the child for success in school. Tuition includes materials.

Patrice Leary-Forrey, director of Kids Free to Grow: York County Council for Child Abuse Prevention, and has a Masters in Clinical Psychology and Bachelors in Psychology and English.

A FREE Community Forum Experiencing the loss of a loved one can have devastating and lasting effects on how we deal with daily tasks and our understanding of love, life and experience. We will gather together to explore new ways of moving through grief and loss with vitality, expression, and new perspectives. This offering allows those who have experienced loss to come together to share experience, tools and skills that everyone can benefit and begin to heal from. This forum is open to anyone ages 17+ and sharing your experience is entirely optional.

Pamela McGrath, MA, CHC, is a seasoned facilitator helping children and adults move through grief and loss, teaching tools of self-renewal, recovery and building resilience and self-confidence. Pamela received Bereavement Support Group Facilitator training through The Center for Grieving Children. She is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York and holds a Masters degree in Health Sciences, with a focus on Expressive Arts - Therapeutic Movement, helping groups of children and adults move through trauma from loss.
