Yoga in Your Chair - Live Online

This gentle yoga class offers the benefits of yoga without the need to get up and down from the floor. Yoga postures are adapted for practicing seated and possibly standing using the chair for support. You will be guided through postures, breathing and relaxation techniques with a focus on releasing tension, improving flexibility and creating mindfulness. Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and have an extra layer available. All levels welcome, no prior experience necessary.

Registration closes at noon on Monday 1/11.

David Campbell, Yoga Alliance RYT 200, holds certifications in on-chair and off-chair yoga. He believes the benefits of yoga should be available to anyone.

Yoga for Functional Movement - Live Online

Connect with your breath and body through yoga-inspired functional movements. Functional movements are multi-joint, multi-planar movements that engage core musculature prior to global musculature, such as lunging, squatting, reaching and transitions to/from the ground - all essential movements for daily living on Earth!

Each session includes centering in functional neutral postures, breathwork with core stability, spinal flexibility, balancing and agility explorations. A functional movement-inspired practice translates to more mindful, effortless movement off the mat!

All experience levels welcome.

Yin Yoga

This slow-paced, meditative practice holds poses for 3 to 5 minutes, with the focus on relaxing the muscles and stretching parts of the body rich in connective tissues. Postures may be held in seated or lying down positions. This calming and balancing practice supports joint flexibility, reduces stress and increases energy. No experience necessary. No class 2/15. Masks and distancing required. 

Required: Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and bring a yoga mat.

Chani Cochrane, Yoga Alliances certified with 200 hours, began exploring her own yoga practice after a long career in massage therapy and kids yoga. She believes in the healing powers of breath and movement and the community connection that a yoga family provides.

Pronounced ‘chee gong’, this ancient Chinese exercise relieves stress without straining joints, muscles or ligaments. Control energy flow while increasing stamina and awareness through slow graceful movements with meditation. This practice combines intentional controlled breathing to encourage the flow of chi (vital energy) in the body, elevating the immune system, releasing nervous tension and eliminating stress for optimal health.
