Whether you are a beginner or beginning again, there is space for you in this yoga practice. Learn accessible yoga that is suitable for any body while focusing on building confidence in and understanding of the poses. Receive safe assistance to find the physical practice that works best for you. Learn simple breathing techniques to de-stress and calm the mind on and off the mat while having fun with a community of people who are drawn to wellness!

Required: Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

Janet Spiegel began practicing yoga almost a decade ago to add power classes to her running training. After crossing the finish line she kept coming back to her mat. Her practice and teachings honor the balance between energetic movement and calmness.

Chi Kung Level II

This follow-up to Chi Kung Level I will teach other forms, as well as get into the how-to’s of the healing aspects of this art that is a part of traditional Chinese medicine. Some experience in Chi Kung is helpful but not required. Wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes.

Mark Gerardi, studying and teaching martial arts for over 25 years, is the founder of Samurai Fitness and member of the National Qigong Association. He is also a powerful energy healer with formal education in Shiatsu, Herbalism, EFT, KCR and Reiki.

This gentle flow class starts with subtle movements to lubricate joints, facilitate blood flow and loosen the body. Meditative movement ends with restorative postures and long savasana. The savasana includes Reiki, hands-on assists and essential oils to help bring bodies back to alignment and harmony, We may also cover chanting, intuitive movement, deep stretching and mindful breathing. Bring water, a mat, wear comfortable clothing and minimize the use of perfumes.

Sue Giarolo, a Kripalu-trained 200 hour yoga instructor, is also certified in Let Your Yoga Dance, Restorative Yoga, YSR12, Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra and Reiki I/II. From movement to stillness, sheer bliss to deep inward exploration, her goal is to guide each person to be their own Guru.

This program will kick up the intensity of the typical ballet barre class with its unique, one-of-a-kind cardio series. We have combined small, precise muscle movements and isometric holds to sculpt, strengthen and stretch the muscles with an EXCLUSIVE cardio glide to increase endurance, stamina and balance while melting away fat. Wear comfortable workout clothes, no shoes necessary. Register through OOB/Saco Adult Ed only.

Mandy Greene, owner of Forever Fit, has been in the fitness & health industry since 2000. She received the Bill Evans Senior Exiting Award for Excellence in Dance at University of New Mexico. She is a NASM & AFAA certified personal trainer, pilates trained through the PhysicalMind Institute and willPower & grace, TRX, Beyond Barre, Zumba and Reiki I/II certified.

This class has been referred to as "Cross Fitness Training with Crossing Swords". Wear loose clothing and prepare to "Get Samurai Fit"!

Spinning for Rookies

Our instructors will coach and inspire you to find self-motivation through a mind/body connection and exhilarating music that will beg your legs to pedal through flats and hills. Class is geared for beginning participants although all levels are welcome as everyone works at their own pace. First timers, please arrive 15 minutes before your first class for bike setup instructions. Bring a water bottle, towel and enjoy the ride! Registration is required and accepted through OOB/Saco Adult Ed.

Paula Truman, certified Spinning instructor, teaches at Saco Sport & Fitness. She has been teaching for many years and works with all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes.
