Beginners Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga is a therapeutic sequence that synchronizes breathing with postures. This practice helps to heal, cleanse and tone the body. Best of all, this form of yoga will give you the necessary tools to quiet the mind, both on and off the mat! This is an introductory class and all levels are welcome! Wear comfortable clothing. Mats provided. Register through OOB/Saco Adult Ed only. No class 11/12.

Jennifer Poore holds two 200 hour yoga certifications. She has been practicing yoga for more than 15 year and discovered Ashtanga eight years ago. She is excited to share this beautiful tradition with her students.

Fundamentals of Pilates

Learn the foundation for a healthy and productive pilates practice. Reorganize your movement patterns, recruit stabilizing muscles and learn breathing patterns to help activate the core muscles. Wear comfortable clothing. Mats and props provided. All levels welcome! Register through OOB/Saco Adult Ed only. No class 11/12.

Robin Stickney, teaching at Forever Fit since 2011, is certified in Pilates Mat & Apparatus thru the PhysicalMind Institute. She holds certifications in BeyondBarre, TRX Group Suspension Training, TRX Suspension Sports Medicine Training, CPR/AED and is passionate about sharing the benefits of pilates with others.

Spinning for Rookies

Our instructors will coach and inspire you to find self-motivation through a mind/body connection and exhilarating music that will beg your legs to pedal through flats and hills. Class is geared for beginning participants although all levels are welcome as everyone works at their own pace. Registrations accepted through OOB/Saco Adult Ed only.

Note: First timers, please arrive 15 minutes before your first class for bike setup instructions. Bring a water bottle and towel, and enjoy the ride!

Paula Truman, New England Ladies Racquetball Champion 1993-2008, Maine Racquetball Hall of Fame, and certified Spinning instructor, teaches at Saco Sport & Fitness. She has been teaching for many years and works with all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes.

T'ai Chi Level II

Strengthen and deepen your T'ai Chi practice by expanding your basic exercises while putting moves together to create a form. Some meditation practices may be included as an aid to further relaxation, stress reduction and to help with pain management. Wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes. No class 11/12.

Required: T'ai Chi Level I.

Mark Gerardi, studying and teaching martial arts for 25 years, is the founder of Samurai Fitness and a member of the National Qigong Association. He is also a powerful energy healer with formal education in Shiatsu, Herbalism, EFT, KCR and Reiki.
