The A, B, C & Ds of Medicare
with Barbara Hopkins
Learn more about how Medicare handles inpatient, outpatient and prescription drug expenses. Examine the enrollment windows and the different Medicare-compatible products such as prescription medication plans, Medicare Advantage and supplement plans. Current users, newcomers, adult children and loved ones of Medicare recipients will all benefit from this presentation!
Barbara Hopkins is a qualified ME agent with 20 years of experience in health insurance operations. She has a Master's in Communications Management and a certification in corporate training.
Beginner Tai Chi Level II
with Laura W Huenteo
Strengthen and deepen your Tai Chi practice by expanding your basic exercises while putting moves together to create a form. Some meditation practices may be included as an aid to further relaxation, stress reduction, and pain management. Chairs will be available for those that need them. Wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes. Prerequisite: Beginner Tai Chi Level I. Wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes.
Laurie Huenteo received her Tai Chi certification through the Functional Aging Institute/Open Door Tai Chi. She has been practicing Yang-style Tai Chi and Qigong for 14+ years and teaching for the last five. She is passionate about teaching Tai Chi.

Beginner Adult Ballet
with Morgan Sanborn
Add movement to your weekly routine, learn something new, or even refresh skills from your past! Develop musicality along with a basic knowledge of ballet steps, including proper alignment along with the fundamentals of ballet technique. Each class will consist of barre and center work, along with exercises traveling across the floor. Students will also learn a brief history of ballet along with the historical context of steps and styles of classical ballet. Wear something comfortable to move in. Please bring ballet flat shoes (recommendation from Morgan: On Your Toes in Peabody, MA or Petite Jete in Brunswick. She can also have shoes available for purchase at the studio if students send her their street shoe sizes by 12/15.
Morgan Sanborn is a member of City Ballet of Boston and freelance artist with extensive background training and performing in multiple styles of dance and 25+ years of teaching experience. She is currently an American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum® Fellowship Instructor, certified in Progressing Ballet Technique, Pilates Academy International Mat, and working toward completing a comprehensive Pilates Apparatus Certification.
Photography for Newbies - Live Online

This course covers multiple subject areas and includes assignments and sharing your work with the class. Are you still getting to know your digital camera and its features? Here's an opportunity to learn from an expert in this seminar for beginners! Have your camera ready and learn when and how to use its special features - such as program mode, manual mode, aperture priority and shutter priority. Also covered will be basic composition and best use of light for different situations, such as plant, people, macro, and landscape photography. Please have a computer, stable internet connection, and your camera. Zoom link provided by instructor.
Steve McGrath is a professional freelance photographer and teacher with 25 years of experience shooting sports photos for local high schools, then weddings and stock agencies. His love of the great outdoors led him to his true passion—nature photography. Steve was an active member of the Gateway Camera Club for many years and has won many ribbons and awards at fairs and competitions through the group and on his own. Many of his images have been published in school textbooks.
Watercolor Basics
with Russel Whitten
Study color theory by blending and using pigments to build a solid foundation in watercolor painting. Create the illusion of distance and composition by demonstrated technique. You will be guided through the process as you create your first painting‚ after that the possibilities are endless! Russel will assist you in building skills and confidence throughout the course.
Bring 1 small tube each: cadmium yellow (light), cobalt blue, alizarin crimson, 1 paint palette (Russel says folding ones are ideal!), 1 round #10 watercolor brush; 1 inch wide flat brush, 1 drawing pencil #2H, 1 eraser, 1 light-weight board or piece of cardboard; and two sheets of Arches watercolor paper, 140 lb. cold press, 22x30 inches (total supply cost approx. $80).
Note: Please purchase Arches, as the quality of watercolor paper is essential for handling the techniques you will be taught in class. Please bring any colors you already have.
Russel Whitten, a local artist and teacher, studied at The Art Students League of New York, Heartwood College of Art, and is a member of The Ogunquit Art Association/Barn Gallery. Students adore his laid-back, encouraging demeanor.

Each class will consist of a warm-up, center and across the floor exercises, and a fun piece of tap repertoire or choreography. Join this fun class to add movement to your weekly routine, learn something new, or refresh skills from your past! Please bring tap shoes, and wear something comfortable to move in.
Gabby Poulin Is a graduate of Roger Williams University and was part of the RWU Dance Theater. She grew up training with Community Dance Project and Thornton Academy Dance Company under the direction of directors Emma Campbell and Sarah Choroszy. She further expanded her studies at Bates Dance Festival, Joffrey Ballet School, and trained under Morgan Sanborn, Director of Dirigo Conservatory of Movement.
Aerial Yoga Section 1
with Ashley Marie Jolly
Classes in aerial yoga include flips, tricks and inversions. By keeping the swing at hip height, it transforms into a hammock that supports you during backbends and inversions and offers a unique way to build core, arm, and leg strength. You'll flow and fly in your aerial swing during these 50-minute lessons, fusing the grace of yoga with the freedom of flight. Wear comfortable workout-type clothes but nothing too loose, and be prepared to go barefoot. No class 1/31.
Ashley Jolly is certified in both barre and aerial yoga. Her main focuses are on strength, stability, and flexibility, as she finds these to be the trifecta of great fitness.

Gayle Fitzpatrick has taught in public and private schools, colleges and adult and community programs for 30+ years. She is a practicing artist, producing and showing paper, print, and painted pieces.
