How to Dress for Your Body Shape

Learn simple techniques to create the illusion of a slimmer body or more curves! Discover how to wear color, clothing styles, and embellishments to trick the eye into seeing something different on the body than is really there, such as slimmer hips, a flatter stomach, more curves, or a taller, leaner figure. Bring a pen/notepad.

Candace Sanborn, personal stylist and owner of Radiant Image in Auburn, teaches women how to look and feel good about their appearance by dressing for their coloring, body type, and face shape. She provides personalized color palettes and clothing portfolios to make shopping easier and more focused, which saves money and results in more outfits with fewer pieces because clothes mix and match!

Wire Wrapped Sea Glass: Advanced Techniques

Build on the foundational knowledge you learned in Wire Wrapped Sea Glass Jewelry and learn more intricate wire techniques while incorporating finer metals into your designs. Continue exploring creative ways to turn found objects, like sea glass, into wearable art. Bring your favorite tools (basic tools available for use in class), your own sea glass, or choose from the instructor's collection. Leave with a sophisticated piece that reflects your evolving design style. Registration closes at noon on 5/12. Tuition includes materials.

Required: Attendance in a Wire Wrapped Sea Glass course with Jessica.

Jessica Muise, a multidisciplinary artist and educator has been teaching and making art throughout New England for the last 15 years. She is passionate about using the arts as tools for social change and serves as a creative economy advisor to several arts organizations and artist-led coalitions.

Nature Photography - Live Online

Steve McGrath is a professional freelance photographer and teacher with 25 years of experience. His love of the great outdoors led him to his true passion–nature photography. Steve was an active member of the Gateway Camera Club for many years and has won many ribbons and awards at fairs and competitions through the group and on his own. Many of his images have been published in school textbooks.

Gelli Plate Printmaking

Learn to use gelli printing plates! We will cover a variety of layering techniques in this entertaining printmaking session, incorporating found materials to add texture. Have fun experimenting and creating art that can be displayed on its own or used in other crafts or collages. All materials provided.

Karalyn Thayer has a BFA from the ME College of Art with a background in teaching web and graphic design. She creates her art with the use of mixed-media illustrations and loves experimenting with at-home printmaking.

Incorporate Indian food into your cooking! Masoor daal is a lentil curry that can be made to accommodate a variety of dietary needs and preferences, such as vegetarianism and gluten intolerance. Naan, a traditional flatbread, is simple to make, and you likely have all the ingredients in your home, and the best part is you don't have to turn your oven on to make it! This is a demonstration class, however, students are welcome to either watch or join us in the kitchen. Bring an apron, a couple of small containers/baggies for leftovers, and your appetite! Recipes provided.

Mary Bailey, pastry chef and past owner/chef of Thyme and Honey Bakery in Biddeford, is passionate about baking bread and teaching people how to incorporate homemade bread into their daily lives.
