This slow-paced, meditative practice holds poses for 3 to 5 minutes, focusing on relaxing the muscles and stretching parts of the body rich in connective tissues. Postures may be held in seated or lying down positions. This calming and balancing practice supports joint flexibility, reduces stress and increases energy. No experience necessary.
Required: Proof of registration. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing; bring a yoga mat, yoga blocks, a bolster (couch pillows work) and a blanket.
Jessy Barker, a 500-hour Certified Yoga Instructor, has years of experience teaching several movement modalities. Her concentration is in meditative Belly Dance, Yin, Hatha and Chair yoga. She is also a certified meditation teacher through ShivaShakti school of Yoga and Healing Arts.
