Paint loosely & expressively!
Flowers are a great subject when seeking to paint intuitively and fluidly. Practice techniques that will strengthen your painting skills including: observation and editing, positive and negative painting, textural effects, glazing, wet-into-wet painting and color mixing. Wrap it all up by painting a flower arrangement using in class and improvisational techniques as you develop your own personal style. Masks and distancing required.
Required: 1 small tube each: cadmium yellow (light), cobalt blue, alizarin crimson, 1 round #10 watercolor brush; 1 inch wide flat brush, 1 drawing pencil #3B, 1 eraser, 1 light board or piece of cardboard and two sheets of Arches watercolor paper, 140 lb. cold press (approx. $25-30).
