Watercolor Batik on Rice Paper
with Marjorie Otis
Choose one of three designs, draw it onto rice paper and apply wax and watercolor paints. Hot wax (180 degree) will be used as a resist to preserve colors throughout the process. Students may purchase extra matting, in limited colors, for $3-$5, payable to the instructor. Tuition includes materials.
Note: If you have an aversion to the odor of hot wax, this class may not be for you!
Required: Watercolor brushes #0 or #1 liner, #4 & #8 round, large 3/4 inch flat or angle and an Ultra-Fine Black Sharpie.
