Maine Landscapes in Acrylics
with Jennifer Martel
Enjoy the beauty of our home state by capturing it in paint. With its tree-lined orchards and farms, expansive seascapes and the variety of its four seasons, Maine is a treasure trove of inspiration. Focus will be on learning to hone palette knife skills, brush techniques and applying unexpected materials to create one-of-a-kind works of art.
Required: 9 x 12 inch 40 sheet palette paper, 12 x 16 inch watercolor paper, variety of brushes in stiff hog and soft sable (round, pointed round, flat, filbert, flat angled, fan, pointed detail), acrylic paint in black, white, ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, red, light cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, burnt umber and green as an optional color; small palette knife, pencil, eraser, small spray bottle for water and two land/seascape photos (either printed or on screen). Jennifer Martel works primarily in oils, but uses media from charcoal to gold leaf. She is excited to help you save valuable time consumed in trial and error by sharing tips and insights gained over 20 years of experience.
