Acquire the critical skills needed to respond to and manage first aid, choking, or sudden cardiac arrest until emergency medical services arrive. Learn to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other emergencies, as well as adult/child/infant CPR and automated external defibrillator use. First Aid and CPR cards are good for two years and meet the requirements for child care providers.

Karl Finley, volunteer firefighter for 20+ years with the Scarborough Fire Department, is an EMT/Paramedic and worked at the Saco Fire Department for 19 years. He has been the Public Education Coordinator for nine years and has 11 years experience teaching CPR.
