with Janet Conner, BS
Low-tech, simple and lots of fun!
Easily incorporate rovings, hand-spun and commercial yarns, felting techniques and embellishments after mastering the basics. Learn the sequence and procedure of rug hooking from start to finish with every step demonstrated. Discuss the history and tradition of primitive rug hooking, learn about finding and preparing materials, and research sources for design inspiration. Choose a small mat or chair pad from a variety of simple kits which include everything needed: hook, instructions, design suggestions, binding, burlap, hoop and a selection of one-of- a-kind heirloom and hand-dyed wools ($41-$60, payable to instructor in class). Review the designs/kits at www.jconnerhookedrugs.com, and email the instructor, email@example.com, specifying your choice(s). Bring a bag lunch and sharp fabric scissors, if you have some.
