Chi Kung (pronounced Chee Gong) is a gentle exercise that relieves stress without straining joints, muscles or ligaments. Slow graceful movements combined with meditation, Chi Kung controls energy flow while increasing stamina and awareness. This ancient Chinese practice combines intentional, controlled breathing with movements to encourage the flow of chi (vital energy) in the body elevating the immune system, releasing nervous tension and eliminating a buildup of stress, all important factors in maintaining optimal health. Wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes.
Mark Gerardi, studying and teaching martial arts for 25 years, is the founder of Samurai Fitness and a member of the National Qigong Association. He is also a powerful energy healer with formal education in Shiatsu, Herbalism, EFT, KCR and Reiki.
