Basic Hand Sewing
with Merry Canillas
Sewing is a rewarding and handy art!
Being able to make something practical and fun at the same time is worth every bit of love and effort put into it. Start by covering tools, threads and fabrics and what to use with what, then on to the various kinds of stitches and how they are used. Learn to make and sew bias binding, buttons, snaps, blind hemming, etc. Create a pouch for your sewing kit, a cute pincushion, makeup bag and cell phone cover. Tuition includes additional tools and materials for all four projects.
Required: Basic sewing kit of sharp fabric scissors, pack of hand sewing needles and glass head pins, 6-12 inch metal ruler, pencil or marking pen.
