Get new ideas and build upon the techniques you have already established. Learn to draw with watercolor, understand positive and negative space, and refine color mixing and matching techniques. Work on slightly more complex still life subjects, with step-by-step demonstrations and explanations on execution. No class February 21st.
Prerequisite: Watercolor Basics
Required: 1 sm tube ea: Cadmium Yellow (light), Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow (medium), Cerulean Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Red (medium), Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine (or French Ultramarine), Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna (Cotman or Grumbacher watercolor hues are OK); 1 Round #12 watercolor brush; 1 drawing pencil #3B; 1 eraser; 1 light board or piece of cardboard; one sheet of Arches watercolor paper, 140 lb. cold press; and a water jar (approx. $40-$50). Portlandís Art Mart or Artisan Craftsman recommended.
