The new and improved GED, the High School Diploma Equivalency Test is a series of 5 tests which each require a passing grade in order to earn a high school diploma equivalency. The HiSET diploma is recognized as a form of high school completion by employers and college admissions. Students must be at least 17 years old and officially withdrawn from their high school before taking the official HiSET tests. The HiSET tests cover 5 different subjects: Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies.

The process begins by completing the online registration today. You will receive a call or email to schedule an intake appointment at the Saco Learning Center and complete your online CASAS assessments. Once your intake and CASAS testing is completed, our Chief HiSET Examiner, Liis Nigol, will contact you and set up appointments for the practice tests. Upon passing the five practice tests you will be scheduled for official testing. Please note: Official testing requires a valid photo ID.

At the Saco Learning Center, in-person prep classes are offered on Mondays and Tuesdays evenings along with one on one math tutoring, and additional at home study materials, to assist those who need more preparation before official testing. All practice and official testing is done at our Old Orchard Beach facility.

Students must have reliable transportation to and from tests and classes.
