Baseball 101

There is just so much to talk about when the subject is Americas favorite pastime! We will discuss the rules and strategies of the game, the history of Major League Baseball, the social impact the game has had, and so much more! Whether you are a casual fan, a diehard Red Sox fanatic, or someone trying to learn about the game, this will be a fun time discussing the greatest game ever played!

Mike Harris' baseball memories go back to Ted Williams' final year with the Red Sox. He was his team's MVP during senior year and the Boston Herald named him as an honorable mention to the Massachusetts All-State team. He has played and coached the game from Farm League up through American Legion Baseball. A die-hard Red Sox fan, he claims he spent his entire childhood in the bleachers at Fenway Park. He loves to play, watch and talk baseball.

Join us for a fun, relaxed evening of cribbage, while you learn the ins-and-outs of this popular board game. This is a beginner to advanced-beginner level class. Bring your own cribbage board, if you have one. No class April 19th.

Bob Nadeau has been playing the game of cribbage daily for 70 years! Throughout his lifetime he has taught many people how to play and although he has not yet taught more than one person at a time, he is excited for the opportunity to teach a group of students.

How to Play Mah Jongg

Mah Jongg is a centuries-old version of rummy played with tiles instead of cards. Your instructors will skillfully guide you through each step of the game using the rules and card of the National Mah Jongg League. Learn the basics and quickly begin playing and adding to your skills. Match your memory, wits and luck against your three opponents and be the first to declare Mah Jongg!

Required: The 2017 National Mah Jongg League card of standard hands, available for $8 at www.nationalmahjonggleague.org. The card changes annually and all players start using the card on April 1st so this is the perfect time to learn the game.

Caryl Everett is an avid Mah Jongg player who is passionate about sharing her love for the game with others.
