Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Synchronize your breath with a series of physically therapeutic and intentional poses... individualized therapy for our aching bodies and deep rest for our minds. The result is improved flexibility and circulation, a light and strong body and a calmer mind. This physical practice and its mental focus on breathing is taught as a way to simulate the process of learning how to walk through our lives with more awareness.

Registration through OOB/Saco Adult Ed.

Required: options are offered for all poses but participants need to be able get up and down from the ground easily.

Note: This discounted introductory course is open to first time students at Kusum Institute Yoga only.

Beach Running

A consistent running program needs a solid plan to keep you motivated and successful. Get the support and knowledge you need to get started in a fun, relaxed, and nonjudgmental atmosphere geared to your individual fitness level. Running on the beach cross trains leg muscles differently, easier on the joints than running on pavement and treadmills. Get healthy tips and information on nutrition, hydration, stretching to get you ready to run a 5K at a comfortable pace. Wear walking or running sneakers, appropriate exercise gear and bring water. Parking permit (for duration of class) included.

Robert Cyr is a Registered & Certified Holistic Health Coach, Wellness instructor, Organic Farmer, Food safety professional, personal Chef, former official trainer/pacesetter for the Hannaford-sponsored training runs for the Beach to Beacon and author of self-help health book Zombie Truckers. He is passionate about sharing nutrition, cooking, fitness knowledge, and creating healthy lifestyle changes to becoming –Cyriously Fit.”

Beach Walking

This class is designed for the true beginner exerciser who doesn't know where to start. Get motivated with the fundamental skills, in a nonjudgmental environment. Get healthy tips and information on proper hydration and nutrition that will support your weight loss goals, as you stroll on one of Southern Maine's picturesque beaches. Wear walking or running sneakers, appropriate exercise gear and bring water. Parking permit (for duration of class) included.

Learn the technical aspects of the long and short game including full swings, chipping and putting, and general rules. You will be capable of playing on the golf course after this class. Clubs are provided or bring your own. Register early - this class fills fast!

Note: In case of rain, there will be an indoor rules and etiquette class at Dunegrass in the Pro Shop. You will be notified of weather cancellations and make up dates, if needed, by 3 PM the day of class.

Required: A weekly ball fee of $4. Sneakers or golf shoes. No jeans or T-shirts allowed. Collared shirts required.

Ron Bibeau, former successful amateur golfer and a Head Golf Pro since 2002, began working at Dunegrass in 2016. He is currently VP of The New England chapter of the PGA and soon to be elected President. Ron has been a member of The Maine Golf Hall of Fame in 2014 and has been honored by his peers with various awards over the years.

Full Course

Beginning Tennis

Learn this great sport in a relaxed small-group format. Focus on basic strokes, rules and strategies for singles and doubles. Wear workout gear, tennis shoes and bring a racquet with a fresh can of balls to the first class. Limited to 10 people, so register early. You will be notified of weather cancellations and make up dates by 8 AM the day of class.

Beth Nason played tennis in high school, where she went to State competitions. She played competitively in college and attended Cornell University tennis camp for two summers and was the assistant tennis coach for the OOB Girls Tennis team.
