Acupressure Shoulder & Neck Release

Acupressure, finger pressure on acupuncture point, is a simple, effective technique originating in the rich tradition of Asian medicine. This class will focus on releasing shoulder and neck tension. Give and receive a simple 5-step protocol of acupressure points in the shoulder and neck region, followed by a 5-step protocol of centering points for relaxation and calming, done lying down or sitting. Register with a friend for future practice, single participants will be matched for in-class practice.
Required: 2 bed pillows and cushioned blanket for your treatment table and comfortable clothing.

Afro-Cuban & Brazilian Drumming
with Joseph Perullo
Discover the musical roots of rhythms originating from Cuba, Brazil, and western Africa and their influences on American music. Focus on playing and learning various hand-drumming styles including a listening component and some brief history. Beginners and students of all musical backgrounds are encouraged as he instructor will cater to the level of each individual. Please bring any hand drums, bells, or miscellaneous percussion instruments.
Joe Perullo, percussionist, studied music at College of the Atlantic, Concordia University and University of So. ME. He teachers include master drummers Shannon Powell, Khary Abdul-Shaheed, Brandon Marger, Les Harris Jr., Michael Bennett, Gary Gemmiti, and many others. Joe is the drummer for the latin-jazz band Viva and the Reinforcements, a private teacher, and freelance musician.
All About Lyme Disease

Learn what Lyme disease is, prevention, recognizing symptoms and co-infections; as well as discussing some of the controversies and how to ask your doctor to do a proper work up. This talk will be entertaining and informative with plenty of chances to ask questions. Dr. McCloy's approach is to get to the root cause of your medical condition and fix them using natural methods, rather than simply covering up the symptoms with drugs which ultimately causes more symptoms.
Dr. Sean McCloy, MD, MPH, MA, is Medical Director/founder of Integrative Health Center of Maine and specializes in Lyme-literate treatment. He received his MD from NYMC, is dual board-certified Diplomate in both Family Medicine & Holistic Medicine.

We synchronize our breath with a series of physically therapeutic and intentional poses to improve flexibility, strength, decrease stress, develop mental focus and cultivate a calmer mind. Options are offered for all poses and this class is suitable for beginners or experienced people who can easily get up and down from the floor. Bring a mat, wear comfortable clothing, and minimize perfumes.

Mike Harris' baseball memories go back to Ted Williams' final year with the Red Sox. He was his team's MVP during senior year and the Boston Herald named him as an honorable mention to the Massachusetts All-State team. He has played and coached the game from Farm League up through American Legion Baseball. A die-hard Red Sox fan, he claims he spent his entire childhood in the bleachers at Fenway Park. He loves to play, watch and talk baseball.

Beginner Belly Dance

Belly dance is wonderful exercise for every belly! Join us in a judgment-free space where the focus is on movement, positive body image, encouragement, and support! Beginners will learn basic movements and combinations, while intermediate students will refine their knowledge and begin experimenting with layers. The tummy-toning results are a positive side effect for inspiration! This is a fragrance free class. Please wear comfortable workout wear and bring water. Shoes and hip scarves are optional. No class May 29th.
Heather Lundin has traveled across the US & overseas to study with internationally recognized belly dance stars and has learned many lessons through the dance: an appreciation of her body, how to feel beautiful and have fun while expressing herself! She currently teaches Belly Dance, Yoga and Kids Yoga and also performs with the Barefoot Truth Dancers Troupe throughout New England.
